A few years back, someone I admired very much - Arnold Nielsen - passed away. Luckily, his daughter Roxanne and I did a series of interviews with him about his life before his passing and I took the opportunity to edit the tapes and produce the following video which was placed onto YouTube for the rest of his family to see. It was also played at his memorial service.
I appreciate that a lot of people visiting this site won't have known him, but I truly admired him and hope that the video will show a small part of the kind of person he was. Arnold led a full, active life and to me, at least, had a wonderfully understated sense of humor. He also just.....treated people with respect, something that is sadly lacking nowadays. He was a gentle soul and, while he wasn't one to shout out about his triumphs, he had many of them.
Anyway, please take a moment to watch the video and take a moment to think about your own folks. We all have stories we like to tell but, maybe sometimes, we should listen instead. Who knows? We may even learn something.
